Online Channel Protection from MarkMonitor Boasts Direct Interface to eBay VeRO

Published April 24th, 2007

MarkMonitor®, the global leader in enterprise brand protection, today announced that Online Channel Protection™ from MarkMonitor is the first brand protection solution to provide a direct reporting interface to eBay Inc.’s (eBay) Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program. This direct interface offers real-time reporting of copyright and trademark infringement including counterfeit protection for brand owners. The licensing agreement between MarkMonitor and eBay highlights the online auction giant’s commitment to brand holders and consumers in its online marketplaces all over the world.
MarkMonitor integrated the direct interface between its Online Channel Protection solution and eBay’s VeRO program using eBay’s VeRO Reporting APIs (application programming interfaces). In addition to expedited processing of infringement claims that include listings of counterfeit goods, the direct interface provides brand owners with real-time status updates for everything reported to eBay. This new functionality enhances the existing MarkMonitor capabilities that allow brand owners to perform ‘one step’ searching and reporting of infringements across sellers and across dozens of eBay’s international auction sites, significantly reducing the amount of time and resources needed to shut down infringing auctions.
