(TP) BT Germany CEO Jan Geldmacher is calling on the German government to sell its shares in Deutsche Telekom to allow the country’s regulatory authorities to operate more freely. His comments were made in an interview with Handelsblatt newspaper. Geldmacher wants Germany to follow the example of the UK market, where the complete withdrawal of the state as a shareholder in the phone incumbent allowed the development of fully-functional competition. He said that the German regulator was being put in a difficult position and that BT would keep a close eye on all future regulatory policy.
