Azalea to deploy wireless mesh network for 2008 Olympics

(TP) Chinese mobile broadband operator CECT-Chinacomm has selected broadband equipment and technology specialist Azalea Networks as the primary equipment supplier for the Wireless Beijing project. The Wireless Beijing project has been organised by CECT-Chinacomm and is supported by the Beijing municipal government. Phase one of this project consists of 800 to 1000 wireless mesh routers supplied and supported by Azalea which will provide mobile broadband access over 30 miles in Beijing’s central business district, financial street and Olympic areas. The Wireless Beijing project is expected to enhance the communication service level in and around Olympic venues and tourist areas.
