Remote Desktop Control Helps Overcome Mobility Challenges

Published September 18th, 2008

Current economic conditions, exacerbated by recent hurricanes, storms, floods, and sky-rocketing oil and gas prices, are contributing to an increasing number of IT workers wanting to telecommute. In fact, a recent survey showed that 37% want it bad enough to take a salary cut. But security and other technical concerns create significant challenges and more than half of corporate CIOs are reluctant to allow full-time telecommuting. Bomgar’s remote desktop control software helps mitigate corporate data risk and may also help with other issues.
According to research conducted by Dice Holdings, Inc., a provider of specialized career websites and career fairs for select professional communities, 37% of the 1500 technology workers surveyed would take a 10% pay cut to be able to work from home. The cut represents an average of about $7,500 for each employee and could result in significant savings for corporations ready to take them up on it.
