Cross-industry solutions for future-proof networking

The initiative Connected Living, recently founded in Berlin, Germany, claims to develop and establish cross-industry solutions and interoperability standards for future-proof networking among electrical equipment in the home. Relevant areas are consumer electronics, telecommunication, IT equipment, building service engineering and white goods.
Interdisciplinary co-operation is key
Prof. Dr. Sahin Albayrak, Scientific Director of DAI-Labor at the Technische Universität Berlin and Executive Chairman of Connected Living: âThe scientific, technical and economic challenges for the installation of a smart home network cannot be tackled by one industry sector on its own. The formation of the initiative Connected Living is the first of its kind able to operate in the area of smart home networking in an interdisciplinary manner.â
Convergent real-time billing essential for transparency
